It takes years of brutal hard work to become a good-enough dancer to dare to go to an audition, and then the reward usually is a brusque "thank you" and a sweaty ride home on the subway. A Chorus Line is a depressing (in a good way), but occasionally inspiring musical that screams "I was made between 1975 and 1985!" This musical is about people having such intense love and dedication to a craft (in this case dancing) that they will do anything to participate in it, and hopefully some day making a living from it. Audrey Landers (born Audrey Hamburg, July 18, 1956) is an American actress and singer, best known for her role as Afton Cooper on the television series Dallas and her role as Val Clarke in the film version of A Chorus Line (1985). Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2018. the quality of the film was not very sharp, not sure if it was a true copy. 1969-12-31 No one who has ever seen A CHORUS LINE either on Broadway in the original 1975 version (extended for years), this 1985 film version or the subsequent revivals on Broadway, or on stages throughout the world (there is a superb recording of the Vienna production in German, and a Japanese version to mention only a few) both professionally or in amateur, college, or high school recreations can forget the wondrous … A Chorus Line is a noble, at times highly entertaining attempt to bring a hopelessly stagebound show to film.
